Common Questions

Stuff People Ask First.

The honest answers we'd give over a fence rather than in a glossy brochure.

Do I own the lights, or am I leasing them?

You own them. Every package price includes the lights, the install, the take-down, and the off-season storage — and they're yours from day one. Most other holiday lighting companies lease their lights, which means you pay every year and never own anything. That's not how we work. If you ever want to keep them, switch companies, or use them yourself, they go with you. We built this business so customers actually own what they pay for.

When should I book?

Earlier than you think. We start booking in August and the early-November install windows fill up by mid-October. If you want lights up before Thanksgiving, book by October 1. We'll still take last-minute calls in December — but you'll be choosing from leftover dates, not your favorites.

What's actually included in "maintenance"?

If a bulb burns out, a strand fails, or a stake gets knocked over by your dog — text us, we come fix it. No charge, no scheduling hassle, no "we'll send someone out next week." We carry replacement bulbs on the truck because we know how this goes.

Do you handle HOA approval?

We design every install with Belterra, Caliterra, Headwaters, and other Hill Country HOA guidelines in mind — we know which palettes are typically approved and which require submission. We can't file your HOA paperwork for you (that has to come from the homeowner), but we'll provide the lighting specs you need if your section requires pre-approval.

What about my electric bill?

Less than you'd think. All our bulbs are commercial-grade LED — a full Full Drip install typically adds $15–$25 to your December electric bill running 6 hours a night. The old incandescent strands you remember from your childhood would have cost ten times that.

What happens to the lights in January?

We come pick everything up — every strand, every stake, every wrap — usually the first or second week of January. We pull it down carefully, label every piece for your house specifically, and store it in our climate-controlled space until next November. Your garage stays empty. Your spouse stays happy.

Do you wrap trees?

Yes, but trees are quoted separately at the site visit. Mature live oaks and other Hill Country trees take real time to wrap right without damaging the bark, and we'd rather quote them honestly than throw them into a package and rush the job. Most clients skip trees entirely and let the roofline and landscape lighting do the heavy lifting — the difference is smaller than you'd think.

What if I want a custom design — different colors, themes, etc.?

We can do it. Custom palettes (think branded colors for HOAs, school colors, or alternating warm white and amber for a Texas vibe) are a flat add-on. Themed installs (think "Whoville" or all-blue ice castle) require a longer design conversation but we've done them. Mention it in the qualifier or just call us.

What if my home isn't on your service area list?

We're growing every season. Run the qualifier and enter your ZIP — if you're outside our current service zone we'll let you know honestly, save your info, and reach out if we expand to your area. We'd rather decline politely than overcommit and screw up someone's Christmas.
